Clients and colleagues describe me as
down-to-earth, relatable, and fiercely empathic.

I am a double board-certified Adult Psychiatrist and

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.

My Story:

In my 20s, I worked for an organization providing community and home-based instructional services for children diagnosed with autism receiving wrap around services. This experience, coupled with my love for teaching and passion for medicine inspired my interest in pursuing Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry as a career.

Over the past 10 years, I have accumulated clinical experience working with adults and children in a variety of clinical settings - These included, but were not limited to: outpatient community mental health clinics, Bryn Mawr College mental health clinic, partial hospitalization programs, inpatient hospitals, and residential facilities. In addition to treating adults and children in a variety of generalized inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, I gained experience working in specialized inpatient units and outpatient clinics  serving children with neurodevelopmental disorders at Sheppard Pratt Health System and HSC Pediatric Center, respectively; as well as specialized inpatient and outpatient programs treating children and adolescents with disordered eating at the Sheppard Pratt Health System and Dominion Hospital.

I started my practice in 2019, while I was also working at some of the above hospital systems. In late 2022, I made the leap to focusing on private practice full time and am hoping to continue expanding the services being offered at my practice in the upcoming years.

I work with people from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds, and life situations, coming in with a wide variety of problems – none of which are too small, or too big; and one common factor – they want to live a more satisfying life. I believe that designing an individual treatment plan based on my patients’ goals and medical and psychiatric needs is the best way to ensure results. I use evidence-based medicine as a guide in medication management of a variety of psychiatric symptoms. I also have experience in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Since therapy is an essential part of psychiatric treatment, I routinely incorporate this practice into treatment with all of my patients.

Outside of direct patient care, I have an interest in advocacy work and education. I play an active role in national and regional chapters of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition to the unique advocacy opportunities provided by living and working in the nation's capital, I also engage in education and advocacy work by giving talks in the community on a variety of mental health topics.

Outside of work, you will find me spending my time among my indoor and outdoor plants, with family and friends, traveling, working out, yoga, hiking, or trying out something new.

Schedule a free consultation call to see if we would be a good match. This would be a good opportunity for you to gauge if you think I align with your needs.

We’ve got work to do- let’s get started.
